Gun-toting Nigerians take to the streets to protect themselves against criminals
According to Channels Television, the Zamfara State Government has ordered its citizens to buy firearms so they may protect themselves from anti-peace thugs plaguing the state.
According to Channels Television, the government's directive was contained in a formal statement released on Sunday by the commissioner for information, Mr. Ibrahim Dosara, who claimed that the new development was required as a result of the anti-peace operatives' overwhelming control over the state's security agencies. The Zamfara Commissioner of Police has been instructed by Governor Mohammed Matawalle to grant licenses to anyone wishing to purchase a firearm for self-defense.
Ibrahim Dosara The state administration has already made the necessary procedures to deliver 500 forms to each of the 19 emirates that comprised the state, allowing individuals who are qualified and willing to get weapons to continue, it was further disclosed.
Aside from issuing licenses for the possession of firearms in the state, the state administration has also ordered the hiring of 200 more Community Protection Guards in each of the state's 19 emirates.

It was also revealed that the state administration had already established the appropriate processes to transmit 500 forms to each of the 19 emirates that made up the state, enabling people who are qualified and want to get weapons to proceed.
The state government has also authorized the appointment of 200 extra Community Protection Guards in each of the state's 19 emirates in addition to providing licenses for the holding of guns throughout the state.
